The minister made the remarks in a visit to IRNA for a ceremony to commemorate National Journalist Day.
Esmaeili said that IRNA is actually “the forehead of the Islamic Republic of Iran” which is considered to have an active presence in all areas.
This media should shine in spreading media justice and giving hope, he said.
Some foreign media try to claim that the Iranian society is suffering from depression, the minister said, adding that “we do not say that the foreign media should praise, but they should stand on the side of fairness and reflect the reality and a real picture (of Iran) to the world.”
Born in Boroujerd in western Iran in June 1968, Saremi was martyred by the Taliban in Mazar-i Sharif on August 8, 1998. The life of the journalist ended sadly but the day (August 8) became a red-letter day in Iran’s national calendar - Journalist Day.
